SNA members put together sensory boxes for nursing home residents.

West Bend Student Nurses Association came together to make Sensory Boxes for the residents at Cedar Community Nursing Home. Students had determined that some residents needed something to help them keep active and prevent boredom, so they researched and created the sensory boxes.

Each box contained a CD player with head phones, a variety of CDs, adult coloring books/colored pencils, squish balls, aroma therapy and other items to stimulate the senses. So far 3 boxes have been made to placed on 3 different units. Based on feedback, plans are to make more boxes next year.
