Summertime Grilling- Straight from Moraine Park’s Kitchen!

It’s no secret that our Moraine Park culinary instructors have some delicious recipes up their sleeves. Lucky for you, they are willing to share a few!

Give this delicious salmon recipe a try the next time you fire up your grill!


Grilled Salmon with Strawberry Jalapeno Salsa

Prep time: 16 minutes

Yield: 4

Ingredients:

4  salmon steaks (6-8 ounce)

Salt and pepper to taste

Salsa:

1 pound fresh strawberries, diced

1 jalapeno pepper, seeded, deveined and finely diced

½ cup loosely packed cilantro leaves, chopped

1/3 cup diced red onion

Juice of 1 lime

Salt to taste

Instructions:

Salsa:

 In a large bowl combine all of the ingredients for the salsa and stir together until combined.

Grilled Salmon:

Preheat grill to medium heat

Season the salmon with salt and pepper

Oil the grill grates or spray them with cooking spray, then place the salmon fillets on and grill each side for approximately 3-4 minutes or until desired degree of done-ness is reached.

Top the salmon with the strawberry salsa.

This salsa recipe can also be used with grilled chicken, pork, fish, and shrimp or as an appetizer with tortilla chips.
