Ash is one of many of Moraine Park’s Hired Before Graduation success stories and is hoping for more big things in the future. She’s a student in our cosmetology program, and here’s a little insight what that’s been like, in her own words:

Mary Polter knows the benefit of education and hard work. In the late 1980s, she graduated from Moraine Park Technical College’s administrative assistant program while serving in the Army Reserves. For 25 years she worked in accounts payable at two employers. But when her department was outsourced overseas, she spent nine months searching for a new job. She considered her options and accepted her former employer’s reeducation funding.
Mary took a step in a new direction with college that had helped her in the past. She returned to Moraine Park to earn an associate degree in accounting. Continue reading
Joshua Montag has worked very hard since returning to school. Josh had a plan for his college education.
“My initial plan for myself during college was to find a really good internship and work my way up. Once I graduated, I was going to push to get hired or possibly search elsewhere for a career in IT. There are many avenues in the IT industry but not many companies hire without experience. This is why I actively searched for an internship.”

But there’s more. Recent Moraine Park Technical College Human Resources graduate Kayla Ebert said she gained important life skills as well during her time here.
