If so, let us know! Moraine Park Technical College is now accepting nominations for its 2017 Distinguished Alumnus Award.

Nominees must hold a one- or two-year technical diploma, an associate degree or an associate of applied science degree from a Moraine Park program. Additional criteria includes demonstrated service and/or support of Moraine Park, the Wisconsin Technical College System and the community at large, as well as distinguishing oneself through a career or civic activity. Moraine Park welcomes new District Board member

Moraine Park Board of Director Bob Lloyd

Bob Lloyd of Lomira was sworn in Wednesday, Nov. 16, as the newest member of the Moraine Park Technical College District Board.

He will serve as Moraine Park’s School District Administrator Member, with a term expiring in June 2018.

Lloyd is currently the superintendent of Lomira School District – a position he has held since 2012. Before that, he served as Lomira’s 4K-8 principal from 2003 to 2011. Continue reading

Moraine Park ranked 8th in Military Times’s Best for Vets: Career & Technical Colleges 2017. The list, comprised of 24 schools, recognizes career and technical colleges for their commitment to educating and providing opportunities to America’s veterans.

This is the second consecutive year Moraine Park has finished in the Top 10 of “Best for Vets,” with the College placing 9th on last year’s list. Continue reading

Moraine Park’s Beaver Dam campus just wrapped up its 2016 “Christmas in a Shoebox” drive. The drive’s goal was to gather and send 50 boxes of donations to troops overseas this holiday season. Its was organized by the Beaver Dam Student Senate, and roughly 100 different students helped at various points of the project.

Record-breaking donations pour in for Troops

Well, that went well!

With the holiday season approaching, Moraine Park wanted to give back and show support for the men and women who are serving our country overseas.

In order to make their time a little more enjoyable away from home this holiday season, students and staff from Moraine Park’s Beaver Dam campus conducted a “Christmas in a Shoebox” drive (all donations – deodorant, eye drops, candy, snacks, books, movies, etc. – had to be small enough to fit inside a shoebox). The drive was organized by the Beaver Dam Student Senate, and roughly 100 different students helped at various points of the project.

In previous years, our record for overall donations was 35 boxes. This year, we aimed higher – hoping to gather enough for 50 boxes of donated items.

Great Pink Pumpkin 5K raises 10k (for a great cause!)

Moraine Park’s 2016 Great Pink Pumpkin 5K Run/Walk featured over 500 participants and raised more than $10,000 for Breast Cancer Recovery and student scholarships.

Breast Cancer Recovery is an organization whose mission is to provide environments for women with breast cancer survivors to heal emotionally.

The third annual Great Pink Pumpkin Run was held Oct. 15 at the College’s Fond du Lac campus. Co-chairs Brenda Schaefer, Moraine Park social science instructor, and Jeff Stueber, business management instructor, said they’re thankful for the support the event received in raising both awareness and funds for a good cause. Local law enforcement demo “Use of Force” simulator

Moraine Park Criminal Justice us of force simulator

Moraine Park Technical College recently hosted a “Use of Force Simulator” demonstration for local law enforcement and corrections agencies.

The event was organized by our College’s Criminal Justice-Corrections program.

The “Use of Force Simulator” is a tool that allows Moraine Park’s students to respond to real-life crisis scenarios in a simulated, virtual environment. Users are able to hold firearms and other instruments while navigating a simulated scenario projected on a screen. Continue reading
