PHOTOS: Children’s Halloween Party 2016

Automotive, nursing and accounting students? Staff and students?

Maybe on any other night.

For one evening, though, Moraine Park’s West Bend campus was brimming with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Pumpkins, princesses, Minions, Giraffes, super heroes and the occasional ghost.

That one evening took place Oct. 26, as Moraine Park Technical College hosted its annual family-friendly Children’s Halloween Party. Check out all the photos below from this year’s fun-filled event.

Take it from two moms: Quality of Moraine Park nursing program changing lives

At first mention of the words “technical college,” the mind’s eye may conjure up an initial image of sparks flying in a welding lab, or wrenches turning in automotive classrooms, or any number of scenes of manufacturing.

While Moraine Park Technical College certainly has these scenarios playing out each week, there’s a different scene also taking place. One of which many people aren’t aware: classrooms and simulation centers filled with students developing, learning and studying to become registered nurses. For many, the undeniable impact of these studies and the time spent at Moraine Park not only paved the way to help save the lives of others, it’s changing the lives of students, too.

The Great Pink Pumpkin 5K Run/Walk returns to Moraine Park Technical College this Saturday. If you’d like to take part, click here for more information.

Through the Great Pink Pumpkin event, scholarships are awarded to students affected by breast cancer thanks to the Moraine Park Foundation.

One of these scholarship recipients is Patty Petrin of West Bend.

Moraine Park hosts “All in One Shot” event

Moraine Park Technical College hosted an “All in One Shot” Career Fair on Friday, giving roughly 120 high school students from West Bend, Kewaskum and Hartford an up-close look at potential career opportunities in health care. (To view photos from the event, click here)

According to Kristen Finnel, dean of Health and Human Services, those opportunities are vast and growing constantly.
