Life Isn’t Perfect But My Dog Is

Whether you decide that you want to hang out, go for walks, snuggle, or get involved in doing canine sports, Black Dog Training is a pet training service for you.  Black Dog Training provides home based obedience activities and more.  Cindy concentrates on teaching your dog and the owner basic behaviors or can involve group training with others for competition.  Owner, Cindy Hanish began this training as her own dog, Chester motivated her to want to help others.

Cindy Hanish attended the five week Start Your Own Business series through Moraine Park Technical College in the Fall of 2021.  Her goal was to open her business by January of 2022.  Instructor Jeff Stueber worked with Cindy to provide simple ideas to generate business and sales. Since then, Cindy has developed many programs to suit the needs of the canines and their owners.

It doesn’t matter what age or breed your dog is, Cindy will help you teach your dog how to behave appropriately at home or on-the-go, while at the same time, building a positive and happy relationship together.

Keep Calm and Eat Cookies

Amanda’s Custom Cookies combine the taste of amazing along with artistic and personalized creation.  Amanda Rogers is a student at Moraine Park Technical College. She will earn her Associate degree in Small Business and Entrepreneurship this spring and plans to pursue a degree in Marketing as well.

Over the last year, using a family cut-out cookie recipe and her talents of art has grown from a hobby to a small business.  Amanda combines the taste and art in a cookie that is almost too pretty to actually eat!  Not only has she created these amazing cookies, but she also now has developed a class in which you and four of your faves can partake in her kitchen to learn and create your own cookies through a class of cookie decorating.  This two-hour class will fly by in fun and design as Amanda, herself, will guide you through the fine skills of cookie art.

As a student at Moraine Park Technical College, Amanda was required to set up a pop-up store for her Capstone course.  Instructor, Jeff Stueber states that not only did her pop-up store held on May 1, 2021 at Stone Oak Coffee sell out of product, but her cookie business exceeds expectations of business planning and marketing.  Next time you need something unique as a gift or want to take a fun class, consider checking out Amanda’s Custom Cookies on Facebook.

Start Your Own Business

Ever wonder how something made from plants could look and taste so good? There is a well hidden treasure in Hartford, Wisconsin called Plantonic Cafe that can make you eat your veggies and enjoy while doing it.  Tanya Fransen, creator and owner of Plantonic Cafe was a student of the business series “Starting Your Own Business” taught by business instructor Jeff Stueber and made her dream a reality.  Years of allergies and declining health forced Tanya to find naturopathic healing which fueled an already conscious woman on a mission in the kitchen and now she is here to spoil her customers with her delicious smoothie bowls, juices, soups and desserts  while only using whole foods, spices and super foods that will help support the body. Her “made from scratch” menu offers something to please everyone.

Tanya joins the ranks of another MPTC student who has made an impact in their local community. For more information about the business series, please contact Laurie Barz at lbarz@morainepark.edu or Jeff Stueber at jstueber1@morainepark.edu
