Along with learning hair cutting, perming and coloring, Cosmetology students also get to explore the world of Facials. Some of what they are learning and practicing in the current eight week term include:
The main purpose of a facial is to preserve the health of the skin.
Meet Britt! She is married, a mother of three and a Cosmetology student. Britt has always been interested in doing hair and even though she had her children young, she said when her youngest went to school, so would she. And she DID! All three kids and herself had their first day of school together!! When Britt is not in school she enjoys spending time with family biking and hiking.

Meet Emma. She decided to try Cosmetology at the suggestion of her hairstylist.
After being homeschooled by her Mom and attending UW-FDL and UW-Washingon County for general education classes, she thought, “why not.”
Emma then started her cosmetology career here at Moraine Park in January 2017. Emma has already been hired as a receptionist at Lavish Salon and Spa in Mayville. She plans on taking her boards along with her classmates on Nov. 6, 2017 so she is ready to start working on clients as soon as she graduates in December 2017.
The “Junior” class in Moraine Park Technical College’s cosmetology program is wrapping up their first eight weeks by coloring each others hair! This is always exciting because they get to do anything they want and get to practice on a real person versus a manikin. Check out some photos of the fun!
