Electrical grad: “My instructors showed a true passion to teach”

Devin Kissinger likes to fish, woodwork, do home improvement projects and … win national championships, too.  He did the latter in Industrial Motor Control at the SkillsUSA national competition held June 23-24 in Louisville, Ky.

That was a culminating accomplishment after years of hard work for Devin.

Along this journey, Devin honed his skills at Moraine Park in my classroom, and I recently caught up with him to get his thoughts on his time here at Moraine Park, and to see if he had advice for anyone else considering a career in electricity. Continue reading

While her degree is Graphic Communications, Loni Meiborg, who graduated in the Class of 2002, has worked in the marketing and advertising field for more than 15 years. Currently, she’s the Marketing Leader at 1st National Bank, where her top priorities include delivering information to clients, developing materials that aide in financial success, and cultivating an easy-to-use environment for the bank’s products and services.

Making things clear and concise to her clients is important to her.  She loves being able to make a positive impact on how 1st National Bank does business with clients.

Opportunity knocks for Process Engineering Technology grads

Liam Schroeder and Glen McClyman were both working as heavy equipment assemblers when they decided they wanted to improve their career opportunities by enrolling in the Process Engineering Technology program at Moraine Park Technical College.

Upon graduation, neither was disappointed with their decision as they both encountered countless opportunities that can be traced to the education they received at Moraine Park. Continue reading

Moraine Park driver wins Kulwicki Cup, $54,439

Alex Prunty, a Moraine Park Technical College alumnus and 24-year-old rising racing star from Lomira, Wisconsin, has won the 2016 “Kulwicki Cup” Championship. That announcement from officials at Kulwicki Driver Development Program (KDDP) came the day before Thanksgiving.

Prunty won the title by eight points (533-525) over New England standout Dave Farrington, Jr., from Jay, Maine.

If so, let us know! Moraine Park Technical College is now accepting nominations for its 2017 Distinguished Alumnus Award.

Nominees must hold a one- or two-year technical diploma, an associate degree or an associate of applied science degree from a Moraine Park program. Additional criteria includes demonstrated service and/or support of Moraine Park, the Wisconsin Technical College System and the community at large, as well as distinguishing oneself through a career or civic activity.
