Ireland Study Abroad – Ready for Takeoff

Group of study abroad students gather for photo

Study abroad participants going to Ireland gathered April 8 for orientation at FVTC. Individuals from Moraine Park, NWTC, CVTC, and MATC met each other for the first time and will soon be traveling across the ocean together. A total of 21 participants, 2 leaders, and 2 shadow leaders will be traveling together to Ireland. They first learned each others names through a fun game, then met the leader they will be working with in Ireland via Skype. Many great questions were asked and much was learned about the Irish culture. They learned more about their expectations, program assignments, and most importantly the activities and fun things they will be doing and seeing in Ireland!

They will depart on Sunday, May 21st and will be returning on Saturday, June 3rd. In these life changing two weeks, they will be hearing lectures at Waterford Institute of Technology, visiting local and international businesses, and touring: Woodstock, Hook Head, JFK Dunbrody, Kilkenny City and Castle, Tramore and Copper Coast, Blarney Castle and Killarney, Ring of Kerry, Dublin, and MORE! Watch for a blog post and pictures once they return.

If you are jealous, don’t worry,  you can go along to Ireland next year… or one of our other study abroad programs! Email Shannon if you want more information (szupke@morainepark.edu).

Safe travels to Ireland!
