I’ve been offered federal work study…! What’s that?

For new students, transfer students and returning students with financial need, there are opportunities to work on campus within the Federal Work Study program. The Federal Work Study program is a Federal Student Aid program intended to provide jobs for eligible students who need financial assistance to attend college. This opportunity can help you to gain the necessary experience for a future career. For example, have you ever wanted to work in an office setting but only have experience working in fast food or factories?

Or would you like a job that works around your school schedule with a supervisor who knows that you are a student first? Within the federal work study program you will have those opportunities to gain experience, work a flexible schedule, and earn funds to help with your education. Gaining experience in the field you intend to pursue allows you to move easier into your future career. After all, experience and a degree or diploma go hand in hand and can open a lot of doors that would otherwise be difficult to open without either one.

At Moraine Park, work study positions are posted online on TechConnect. Check out additional information on federal work study and learn how to apply by taking a look at the Financial Aid Award Guide! For further questions, please contact the Financial Aid Office by emailing financialaid@morainepark.edu.
