MPTC Fiesta Weekend!

This past weekend Moraine Park celebrated Hispanic and Latino Heritage at Fiesta Beaver Dam and Fiesta de Independencia in Fond du Lac. Both of the events were wonderful, and the families enjoyed food, entertainment, and activities.

Moraine Park staff members that participated with me were Laurice Snyder, diversity relations manager and Anthony Rodriguez, ELL program specialist.  Attendees of the Fiesta Beaver Dam enjoyed entertainment from salsa singer, Julio Sostre, as well as a performance and photos by Disney character Coco.  We enjoyed the opportunity to meet and engage in an educational trivia activity with our communities.
Fiesta de Independencia in Fond du Lac had performances from Latinos Unidos dance club, a raffle prize give away, and free food.

Experiencing these cultural events is essential to bridging our communities and preparing for a diverse and globally connected world.
