MPTC Nursing Students Out In The Community!

Nursing students

Today, our second-semester nursing students participated in the Campbellsport Elementary School hearing and vision screenings.

We arrived at 8:00 a.m., but the screenings did not begin until 9:30 a.m. The school was holding a special Veteran’s Day program in the gymnasium, and all of the children were participating. So, we decided to attend the program while we waited for the screening to begin.

It was incredibly special. The elementary students gave a presentation, sang songs, and spoke about what our veterans mean to them. They also had a moment of silence and handed out handwritten thank-you cards to the veterans in attendance. There were definitely tears shed within the audience!

Our nursing students did a great job interacting with the children of all ages, and the elementary school staff was very thankful for the help. They also welcomed us back in the future!

Thanks to the Campbellsport Elementary School for allowing Moraine Park to be a part of their veterans day program. It was a great opportunity. We had intended to participate in a vision and hearing screening, but in the end, we all walked away with much more.
