Moraine Park’s Beaver Dam campus just wrapped up its 2016 “Christmas in a Shoebox” drive. The drive’s goal was to gather and send 50 boxes of donations to troops overseas this holiday season. Its was organized by the Beaver Dam Student Senate, and roughly 100 different students helped at various points of the project.
Well, that went well!
With the holiday season approaching, Moraine Park wanted to give back and show support for the men and women who are serving our country overseas.

The drive was organized by the Beaver Dam Student Senate, and roughly 100 different students helped at various points of the project.

Does your culture make you an employer of choice? Do you foster an environment that promotes collaboration, employee satisfaction and engagement? Kevin Kruse, author of Employee Engagement 2.0, defines employee engagement as “… the emotional commitment an employee has to the organization and its goals, resulting in the use of discretionary effort.” Higher employee engagement has been proven to positively affect productivity, customer service and retention because employees are using discretionary effort in ways that affect these important factors.
Join us for this complimentary session as presenters explore benefits, strategies and resources to drive engagement within your organization. Panel presenters will share insight into their employee engagement journey, challenges they faced and their vision for the future. Through a facilitated round table dialogue with your peers, your mind will be opened to new ideas about methods for driving stronger employee engagement, retention, and overall implementation strategies within your organization.

Herein lies another adventurous day at Moraine Park. My name is Carol and I am the Advertising and Social Media manager at the college. I started my position at Moraine Park in January, 2016, and one of the first things that I realized is that the college’s programs and curriculum are relevant, hands on, and backed up with the highest end equipment and resources.
So, as I have slowly made my way around the college into classrooms it has been awe inspiring to see students prepare themselves for their field, especially with the support and dedication of staff and faculty. Continue reading

I remember the day like it was yesterday. It was a Saturday night and I had just finished a 13-hour work day and a 53-hour work week. I was tired and I felt like I hadn’t seen my kids in days. I was juggling two jobs while supporting two kids on my own and I was exhausted in every way imaginable.
It was time for a change. Continue reading
The Moraine Park Association for Career and Technical Education (MPACTE) held their Annual Costume Contest on all the MPTC campuses Monday, October 31st. Students and staff were encouraged to dress up and Trick or Treat to a location at each of the campuses to have their photograph taken and receive a Fair Trade Chocolate treat.
The photos were added to an online voting platform and shared through MPTC’s social media channels for students, staff and the public to choose their three favorites. With over 40 contestants, the competition was fierce, but several groups and individuals moved to the top of the list.
