Did you know that fewer than 39% of teens have ever set foot inside a manufacturing company? If so, how can they be expected to know about the incredible career opportunities offered in manufacturing?

To have the opportunity to see a manufacturing site and get some hands on experience with skills needed in manufacturing join us at Moraine Park Technical College’s “Toolin’ It” Summer Camp June 12-16, 2017,  from 8:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. daily at the West Bend Campus.

Educational Return on Investment

It is well known that Technical College enrollments are directly correlated to the economy. Strong economy means more people are working and less likely to attend school. During recessionary times it is difficult to find a parking space at any Technical College.

I learned recently that our fall enrollments for our very popular CNC/Tool and Die Technologies Diploma program were low. In fact we have only eight completed applications for a program that can handle 36.

3 weeks into a NEW career

We are off to another successful start for our CNC & Welding Boot Camps! With week 3 of our 22nd boot camp in the books, we are excited to see where the 15 new CNC and welding recruits will go!

Most of you may not know that it’s common for participants to come into these boot camps with little or no experience in their chosen field.  So they spend the first couple weeks getting their feet wet and learning the ins and outs of their new trade.

Opportunity knocks for Process Engineering Technology grads

Liam Schroeder and Glen McClyman were both working as heavy equipment assemblers when they decided they wanted to improve their career opportunities by enrolling in the Process Engineering Technology program at Moraine Park Technical College.

Upon graduation, neither was disappointed with their decision as they both encountered countless opportunities that can be traced to the education they received at Moraine Park.

Have you been to Moraine Park’s Jackson Regional Center?  If you have, you will know that it’s the home of Moraine Park’s newest and largest welding lab and located in the Northwest Business Park about ½ mile from Hwy 60 and Hwy 45 interchange in Jackson, WI.

Did you also know that there is a high demand for welders in the manufacturing industry?  This is due to the great importance of a welder in the manufacturing process and the number of baby boomers retiring.
