Walk to End Alzheimer’s coming Oct. 1

The 2016 Walk to End Alzheimer’s will be held at Moraine Park Technical College’s Fond du lac campus on Saturday, Oct. 1.

Registration starts at 8:30 and 2 mile walk starts at 10:00 a.m.

This walk will have over 400 participants on site the day of the event, we also have a number of “virtual walkers”. Each walker is asked to raise donations to support a friend, family member or co-worker.

This walk has raised more than $540,000 in the last 14 years for Fond du Lac County to help individuals living with Alzheimer’s and also assist families to get access to support and services.

I have been a committee member for this walk for over 10 years. I have been the representative of Moraine Park Technical College since we started being the host site for this event. This year I’m a co-chair for the event, and my hope is that someday we will find a cure for this terrible disease.
