It’s A Welder’s World…

Gary Watry and Welding Student Nick

Calling all future welders, now is the time to check out Moraine Park’s welding program in Beaver Dam! This technical diploma program can help you earn a welding career in just 1-year.

Beaver Dam’s small-town campus is anything but, in fact, it is quite expansive. The building is home to many classrooms, computer labs, nursing labs, student life lounge areas, and state-of-the-art trades rooms. The welding lab, which is a replica of what you would find in an industrial welding shop, is one of them.

Gary Watry, a welding instructor at Moraine Park, is proud of Beaver Dam’s lab. As a member of the welding workforce for over 30-years, he knows first hand the type of skilled workers that the industry needs. As a result, he has been able to influence the classroom, incorporating state-of-the-art machinery, and helping students become fully prepared for the field.

“I have many partners in the industry that are in need of skilled welders,” Gary said. “My program will not only teach students how to weld, but it will also help to prepare them for a career in the manufacturing world.”

The welding industry has open jobs and lots of them. Many local manufacturing companies seek out Moraine Park’s welding students, knowing that their instruction is top-notch, and we couldn’t agree more!

Want to see the lab for yourself? Discover Moraine Park is a great opportunity to do just that! Wednesday, October 24, you can drop in anytime between 4 and 6 p.m. to tour the entire campus or an area of your choosing!
