“In early 2018, I obtained my GED certificate through the GED/HSED program the college offers. The positive experience I had with this program helped me to make the decision to continue my education. As soon as I was ready to begin my college journey, the advisors were ready and available to assist me and give direction. By Fall of 2018, I began my first semester of college as a full-time student.”
Working on General Education courses for Nursing program
“Currently, I am enrolled in three General Education courses for the Nursing program. My College 101 course began my college journey as a great resource for self-reflection and improvement. This course taught me how to structure my life in a way to get the most out of my college experience. I also took English Composition I with Dr. Rebecca Leichtfuss. This course increased my knowledge of writing by applying the 4C’s of writing and improved my critical thinking skills. I now understand the importance of communicating clearly and how your writing reflects you as an individual. My third class is Chemistry. Although I was very intimidated by this course, my instructor continues to be amazing and helps me whenever I am struggling. As intimidated as I was, I was motivated to achieve great results.”

“My college experience at Moraine Park Technical College has been great and a lot smoother than I had anticipated. I believe it has a lot to do with how the faculty interacts with the students in such a positive manner. Although I have more education to complete before I will graduate, I am confident about the remainder of my college journey because of the outpour of support offered at this college, which is what a student like me needs.One of the courses I took was the English Composition I course with Dr. Rebecca Leichtfuss.
