Stollen Sale Has Begun!

Stollen

Moraine Park’s Breakfast Pastries class will be selling the stollens for $10 each. Orders will be accepted starting Monday, November 26, until Thursday, December 14.

Stollen is a German Christmas Bread that has been around since the middle ages. The bread contains folds, which are meant to signify the swaddling clothes of the infant Jesus. Slice it thin, spread lightly with butter, and enjoy it with a mug of your favorite hot beverage. Look for a small coin of almond paste with each slice.

They will be ready for pick-up on Wednesday, December 19, outside of the bakery. Cash or check (MPTC Culinary Arts) will be accepted.

Ingredients:

Dried fruits (Raisins, golden raisins, craisins, cherries, apples) and almonds.

Dough: Unbleached bread flour, water, unsalted butter, milk, eggs, rum, brown sugar, yeast, salt

This bread is typically covered with powdered sugar. If you would prefer it without, please include this in your order.

If you are planning to serve the bread at a later date, store it in the freezer to keep it as fresh as possible.

E-mail your order to tendejan@morainepark.edu.
