Hired Before Graduation: Be proud of every step!

“Don’t wait until you’ve reached your goal to be proud of yourself.  Be proud of every step you take toward reaching that goal.” – unknown

This is the quote which Fall 2016 AAS, Accounting graduate, Chelsey Muche recently shared as she reflected on her journey.

Chelsey deserves a lot of praise. As a single mom, she balances work, school, and family commitments. Approaching graduation, she accepted a Cost Accounting internship at Manitou Americas and a part-time financial accounting position at West Bend Country Club. The internship is part of her final graduation requirement, and both prepared her for full-time employment after graduation.

“Know where you want to find yourself in the long-term and create small goals that will help you achieve over-time…know your team and take advantage of all resources. Your team: anyone affiliated with the campus…when they say they will help you, they legitimately mean they are there to help you,” is her advice to someone considering college.

When asked, “what aspect of your education made the biggest impact on you? She replied, “I really feel that these (group) projects bonded us as accounting students and also gave us insight to working in an accounting department…I feel ready to take on an accounting job…”

MPTC is proud to be a step along your accounting journey. Now, you are ready for the next step.

Way to go Chelsey….
