Sparks were flying at Toolin’ It Manufacturing Camp 2016

Kids from the Moraine Park Technical College Toolin' It Manufacturing Camp viewing manufacturing work being done

Learning about tomorrow’s careers was the focus of  our annual Toolin’It manufacturing  summer camp held in June at Moraine Park Technical College’s West Bend and Jackson campuses. While sparks flew on Wednesday when the 13-16 year old’s  took part in welding eagles, they fortunately didn’t fly when they learned about electricity on Thursday.

In addition to Welding and Electricity they made a 3D Design using Solidworks.  The next day their 3D design was the base for the programming work they ran on the machining center using computer  numerical controls  (CNC).  The week ended with tours at Metalcraft of Mayville in West Bend, MGS Manufacturing Group in Germantown and Maysteel Industries in Allenton.  Take a look at the awesome job they all did in the photos below.
