Are accountants really recession-proof?

While nobody is immune from layoffs, accounting is a very stable career choice.  In fact, the Bureau of Labor Statistics projects higher than average growth potential through 2024.

How is accounting unique?

  • Growth plan: Entry-level accountants with the right stuff advance quickly.
  • Stackable Degrees: A 1-year certificate lands the first job, but you are in control of your destiny. Working while earning additional degrees can give students a hiring edge.
  • Career paths: Few professions have as many paths as accounting. Financial accounting, tax accounting, payroll accounting, cost accounting, governmental accounting, non-for-profit accounting, auditing, consulting, business ownership …. the list is nearly endless. By shifting paths, accountants develop a skillset that gives them endless opportunities.

Accounting is one degree with 360 degrees of opportunity.
