Who doesn’t love a free sample?

Around 30 students were able to get a taste of our community education classes on Saturday, November 12. Saturday Sampler is an event that has been happening for over 5 years and gives students the ability to attend a small portion of a class in a variety of topic areas; with new samplings of classes offered every year! This year, participants were able to participate in one hour sessions on the following topics:

  • Beginning Monoprints
  • Introduction to Candy Making
  • How to Start a New Business
  • Computer Tips and Tricks

Check out some of the fun students got to sample!

Each year, community education serves approximately 5000 students and offers over 750 different courses through the MPTC District.  While a majority of the community courses are offered on the main campuses in Fond du Lac, West Bend, and Beaver Dam, many classes are also offered at the regional and outreach locations in the district.  Some of these locations include the Jackson and Ripon Regional Centers, Hartford High School, Kewaskum High School, Berlin High School, the Fond du Lac Senior Center, as well as many other locations.

Community Education offers approximately 400 opportunities each year for personal enrichment/lifelong learning.  We like to think of these classes as the “FUN” courses at MPTC, where you get a chance to learn and try something new.  These classes are a great “date night” activity to do with your spouse or significant other.  They are also great learning experiences to have with family and friends, while also spending some quality time together.  In addition to our “FUN” courses, we offer nearly 400 continuing education and professional development opportunities for workforce participants.  These classes are in addition to our workshops and seminars for professional development that are offered to business and industry.

If you have ideas for community education courses, we would like to hear them!   Feel free to contact MPTC’s Community Coordinators and share your ideas!
