The 2017-18 academic year is coming to a close for the Associate Degree Nursing Program at Moraine Park Technical College. The Nursing team held their final meeting on Friday, May 11, 2018, in Fond du Lac. They gathered for lunch prior to the meeting and shared all the great accomplishments that took place over the year. The team has much to celebrate!

The semi-annual National Council of State Boards of Nursing NCLEX Program Reports from October 2017 to March 2018 were reviewed. The NCLEX is the national exam that nursing graduates take to receive their State Board nursing license on their first-time attempt. Students must pass this in order to practice as a registered nurse. Moraine Park Technical College’s nursing student graduates that tested received the overall score of 97%, as compared to the national average of 85% — this speaks volumes to the hard work of the instructors and staff of the Nursing team!

As the third year of the self-study reporting process for the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), the Nursing Program’s accreditation body, is coming to a close, the Nursing team is ready for final edits. They have worked hard over the past three years collecting data and artifacts for the site visit that will take place in February 2019. The stellar work they have accomplished over the past three years is evident in the excellent first-time NCLEX test takers passing results.

On Friday, May 18, 2018, the Nursing Program will host a Pinning Ceremony on each campus for the upcoming nursing graduating class. A total of 47 nursing graduates will be pinned.

Congratulations Nursing team on your hard work and personal and professional accomplishments over the past academic year. Continued success on the years to come!
