Opportunity knocks for Process Engineering Technology grads

Moraine Park male student working on manufacturing equipment

Liam Schroeder and Glen McClyman were both working as heavy equipment assemblers when they decided they wanted to improve their career opportunities by enrolling in the Process Engineering Technology program at Moraine Park Technical College.

Upon graduation, neither was disappointed with their decision as they both encountered countless opportunities that can be traced to the education they received at Moraine Park.

untitled1Liam graduated from the Process Engineering Technology program in the Spring of 2012 and found a position soon after as a Quality Technician.  He was ecstatic to be able to have more input on the success of the organization and was excited about the opportunity to grow within the organization.  He also found that there were many more opportunities for him outside of the organization as well.

“After graduating from the Process Engineering Technology program in 2012 and taking my first job in Quality, I have had multiple opportunities present themselves.   The market is continually flush with Quality Control and Manufacturing Engineering Technician positions.” Currently, Liam works as a Quality Coordinator at Bradley Corporation and also serves at the Chairperson for the Winnebago Section of the American Society for Quality.

untitled2Glen graduated in the Spring of 2015 and was hired full time at Jormac, where he had been serving an internship during his final semester at Moraine Park.  Glen began as an Engineering Technician and was recently promoted to Manufacturing Engineer.  Glen loves the variety of duties that are required of the job, which the Process Engineering Technology program prepared him for.

“The variety of subjects required for the Process Engineering Technology program is exactly what I needed for my career.  I might be designing a packaging solution for one of our products in the morning using SolidWorks and doing process improvements in the afternoon using Lean Manufacturing techniques. My days are full of variety and satisfaction, all of which was made possible because of this program and the fantastic instructors at Moraine Park Technical College.”
