CNC & Welding Test Drives successful, next session coming Jan. 4

Sometimes the thought of diving into a new career path can seem a bit daunting.

So it’s too bad there isn’t a way you could try out a career and get a feel for the skills needed first, right?

Spoiler alert: There is.

We held the first our our two fall CNC machining and welding “Test Drive” workshops this week.

During the free (Yes, free! Keep a mental note of that!) two-hour workshop on our Fond du Lac campus, attendees gained insight into these respective careers;  met potential employers; and got valuable, hands-on opportunities to try out these career areas.

Participants who attended “Test Drive”  also learned about Moraine Park’s short-term training boot camp opportunities. These boot camps offer a unique training opportunity to potential candidates by providing entry-level skills as well as job experience from these 13- to 15-week sessions. CNC Machining and Welding Boot Camps begin in early February 2017.

If you missed out on this event, don’t worry!

The second CNC machining and Welding Test Drive workshops will be held Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2017 from 12:15 to 2:15 p.m.

Space is limited for the “Test Drive” workshops, and pre-registration is required. Deadline to register for the January workshops is December 21, 2016.

For more details on “Test Drive” or to register, visit morainepark.edu/bootcamp, or call Kim Retlich at 920-924-3334.
