Manufacturing Month Success!

Gary Watry Instructor

October’s Manufacturing Month has wrapped up for 2018, but not without some great efforts put forward by Moraine Park’s staff throughout the entire month.

Gary Watry, a welding instructor at the Beaver Dam campus, spent his Tuesdays in October traveling with the Dodge County Manufacturing Business Alliance to local manufacturing companies. He spoke with high school students and event attendees to raise awareness of Moraine Park manufacturing programs. Participants also had the opportunity to try out the virtual reality welder at each event, which was a huge hit!

Marcia Arndt Dean

Marica Arndt, associate dean of manufacturing, hosted Heavy Metal Tours at the West Bend campus. These tours occurred every Thursday in October and took participants to local Washington County manufacturing sites to get a behind-the-scenes look at the industry today. They had 73 participants in this event. Marcia also participated in the Manufacturing Career Expo at the Washington County Fair Park on Oct 24 and 25.

Moraine Park works year round to create awareness of programs in the manufacturing field that can help fill current employment gaps in the industry.

A HUGE congratulations on the success of all of these Manufacturing Month events and stay tuned for information on how to become involved in 2019’s events.
