We hosted our annual Girls Rock Robotics summer camp (you may remember it as Engineering for Girls!) last week at Moraine Park Technical College. Girls entering 6th through 8th grade from around the area took part in the event, exploring the world of robotics using LEGO Mindstorms.
The girls built robots with motors and sensors to perform tasks and react to their environment, with a showcase event for parents was held on Wednesday. Take a look at the awesome job they all did in the photos below and be sure to check out photos from our Toolin’ It Manufacturing Camp we held earlier this month as well.
Learning about tomorrow’s careers was the focus of our annual Toolin’It manufacturing summer camp held in June at Moraine Park Technical College’s West Bend and Jackson campuses.
Students learned about welding, CNC, mechanical design, electricity and more, and also toured area manufacturers.
Here’s a few photos from Tuesday’s focus on CNC.
Moraine Park Technical College (MPTC) is doing our part to help increase the number of females in IT with our Girls Make IT Happen, #ITgirls event on June 26 through June 29. The event will feature one day in each of the following IT disciplines: IT Tech Support and IT Network, Graphic Communications, IT Web Developer, and IT Mobile Apps and will run from 1-4 pm each day. The event is geared towards young women entering grades 9-12 this fall interested in exploring IT careers.
Did you know that fewer than 39% of teens have ever set foot inside a manufacturing company? If so, how can they be expected to know about the incredible career opportunities offered in manufacturing?
To have the opportunity to see a manufacturing site and get some hands on experience with skills needed in manufacturing join us at Moraine Park Technical College’s “Toolin’ It” Summer Camp June 12-16, 2017, from 8:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. daily at the West Bend Campus.
