IT & Corrections Clubs Present: Stay Out of Traffic!

Through Moraine Park Fair Trade College education efforts, IT and Corrections Club students are helping youth “Stay out of Traffic.” The anti-trafficking initiative began this past October when over 130 participants gathered at our Fond du Lac campus for “Make Fond du Lac a Traffic Free Zone.” This event was designed to bring awareness to the crime of trafficking in people for sex or labor globally, nationally, statewide and locally.

Stay out of Traffic!

Through Moraine Park Fair Trade College education efforts, IT and Corrections Club students are helping youth “Stay out of Traffic.” The anti-trafficking initiative began this past October when over 130 participants gathered at our Fond du Lac campus for “Make Fond du Lac a Traffic Free Zone.” This event was designed to bring awareness to the crime of trafficking in people for sex or labor globally, nationally, statewide and locally.

When the Moraine Park IT and Corrections Clubs students learned about the very scary issue of trafficking of youth and young adults in the Fond du Lac area, they wanted to make a difference and help educate kids, parents and guardians.

Is the Super Bowl one of the biggest events for Human Trafficking?

The Moraine Park Fair Trade College team hosted a “Be AWARE!  Help Stop Human Trafficking” event at all three campuses on Tuesday, January 31.  This event featured the short video 5 Shocking Truths about Human Trafficking in America, along with educational information, delicious Fair Trade chocolate chip cookies baked by Tom Endejan and culinary students, and trafficking awareness mini footballs.

It was a timely look at this issue, as Super Bowl weekend is thought to be one of the biggest periods of human trafficking in our country.

Make Fond du Lac a Traffic Free Zone!

This initiative is about bringing awareness to the crime of trafficking in people for sex or labor, learning what is being done in our community, and how the community can help. On Saturday, October 8, over 130 participants gathered together at the Moraine Park Fond du Lac Campus to do just that! This event was specifically planned for October as a part of educational opportunities available during Fair Trade Month.
