As Moraine Park continues its “Year of the Student Veteran” activities we have several events that are taking place during the week of Veterans Day on all three Moraine Park campuses. Each day the college will recognize a branch of the service with a flag raising, starting Monday November 7th with the raising of the Army flag. Tuesday will be a tribute to the Marines, Wednesday we will honor the Navy, Thursday the Air Force and Friday the Coast Guard. The flag will be raised NLT 8:15 a.m. each morning on all of three campuses, with veterans and the public encouraged to attended to honor each branch of the service.
In addition to the flag raisings, and service recognition, the Mobile Vet Center (MVC) will be available to assist students, staff and members of the community. The MVC is a confidential counseling area on wheels, providing a safe and private environment for veterans to talk to a licensed professional counselor. The MVC attends veteran/military related events throughout the state of Wisconsin and 65% of Vet Center staff are veterans themselves so not only are you talking to a licensed professional, you are talking to a licensed professional who has served in the United States Military.
