A hypnotist, hilarity and chipmunks, oh my

You’re getting sleeeeepy. Very, very sleepy.

You’re not? Hmmm … well, I guess we’ll leave that to the pros, like hypnotist Chris Jones. He’s appeared on America’s Got Talent, and visited our campuses this week at Moraine Park to give several hilarious performances sponsored by our Student Senate groups. A large outpouring of faculty, staff and students turned out to witness the energetic, interactive fun.

How much fun? Well, take a look at the silliness we enjoyed in the gallery below. And while looking at the increasing mix of shock, laughter and disbelief on everyone’s faces, we dare you not to smile!

Senator Feyen tours Moraine Park’s FDL campus

Senator Dan Feyen tours Moraine Park Technical College

Senator Dan Feyen stopped by Moraine Park Technical College’s Fond du Lac campus on Monday morning to take a tour of our facilities. Guiding him on the tour were Moraine Park President Bonnie Baerwald, Vice President of Student Affairs Stan Cram and Vice President of Academic Affairs Jim Eden, along with Recruitment Specialist Erin Wierenga.

The Senator is focused on continuing to help in closing the skills gap, and technical education is important to him. With that in mind, the visit gave us an opportunity to show off our great programs and discuss what we think he could work on during his term.

FACULTY SPOTLIGHT: Rob Heyrman, Communications Instructor

My name is Rob Heyrman, and I have been a communication instructor at Moraine Park since 1990. I started as an adjunct and was hired in a full-time capacity in 1993. I teach English composition, oral and interpersonal communication, and speech in both a traditional and online capacity.

Over the last 27 years, I have seen a lot of changes in the field of general education as well as in the discipline of communication; however, my approach to teaching remains the same.
