The students in our welding program at the Jackson campus recently toured Steel Craft Corp in Hartford. Meeting with us were Joe Rouse: Asst. Plant Manager, Kevin Nerat: Human Resourses, and Chad Sires: CWI/CWE.
Students gained a wealth of knowledge while touring the laser, fabrication, welding and paint departments. They saw firsthand that what they are learning in the classroom and lab, relates directly to what they will encounter in industry. Continue reading
The Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) Carpentry Apprentice classes at Moraine Park’s West Bend Campus are collaborating with the Veterans Outreach of Wisconsin to construct two “’Little Houses” for the James A. Peterson Veterans Village in Racine, Wis.
Moraine Park is hosting its 3rd Annual Jane of All Trades event on Wednesday, March 8. Jane is an event where women of any age* can come and learn about careers they may have never considered before (*Participants under the age of 16 should have a parent/guardian in attendance with them, of course!)

Demand for gas utility technicians is growing much faster in recent years than the supply of skilled workers, and Moraine Park Technical College – with generous help from Alliant Energy – is seeking to provide a state-of-the-art solution.
Moraine Park is developing a new Gas Utility Technician program at the College’s Beaver Dam campus, along with a cutting-edge, $2.3 million dollar Energy Education Center.
Alliant Energy has become a key contributor to this project, recently donating $80,000. Continue reading

Devin Kissinger likes to fish, woodwork, do home improvement projects and … win national championships, too. He did the latter in Industrial Motor Control at the SkillsUSA national competition held June 23-24 in Louisville, Ky.
