Moraine Park awarded 100% of WTCS grant requests

It’s pretty rare that you get everything you ask for, but that’s exactly what’s happening to Moraine Park when it comes to Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS) grants. Every year WTCS makes funds available to the 16 technical college districts (and others) in Wisconsin, but recently more and more of these grants have been competitive.

Our College has developed strong relationships with many four-year colleges/universities to help students earn a bachelor’s degree, and our Transfer Fairs provided a great opportunity for students to speak in-person with representatives from these various schools.

Senator Feyen tours Moraine Park’s FDL campus

Senator Dan Feyen tours Moraine Park Technical College

Senator Dan Feyen stopped by Moraine Park Technical College’s Fond du Lac campus on Monday morning to take a tour of our facilities. Guiding him on the tour were Moraine Park President Bonnie Baerwald, Vice President of Student Affairs Stan Cram and Vice President of Academic Affairs Jim Eden, along with Recruitment Specialist Erin Wierenga.

The Senator is focused on continuing to help in closing the skills gap, and technical education is important to him. With that in mind, the visit gave us an opportunity to show off our great programs and discuss what we think he could work on during his term. Continue reading

It’s never too early to think Spring!

Are you an adult considering college?  Have you withdrawn from school or are you hoping to transfer to a new school?

Students who have withdrawn from school without completing a degree may find themselves in some difficulty. They may owe money on student loans, but not have the degree or diploma they need to find a career that will leave them the ability to pay the loans back.
