There are 7.442 billion people in this world, 6,500 languages, and 4,200 different religions. Our world is full of diversity, yet most will experience very little of it in their lifetime.
Moraine Park Technical College students can apply for a scholarship for books and necessary supplies, thanks to the generosity of community supporter Judith Berger O’Brien.
In early November, our student involvement specialists, Sam Saeger (Fond du Lac), Melanie Schroder (West Bend), and Lisa Manuell (Beaver Dam), took students from each campus to the Association for the Promotion of Campus Activities (APCA) conference.
What was the purpose? To select future campus entertainment!
They joined schools from across the country at this event that consisted of talent showcases, exhibit halls, and many different entertainers.
It was at events like this in previous years that students helped to select entertainers such as Mark Toland the mind reader and comedian John Cassidy.
Sam, Melanie, and Lisa will attend another conference this spring with new group of students. They will then use the top choices from both conferences to make their selections for the 2019-20 school year and possibly beyond.
Beaver Dam student who attended were Trina Anderson, Noah Bille, Alana Clark
Derek DeChant, Abby Muenchow, Nicole Nowicki, and Aurelio Rosas.
Fond du Lac students Kerwana Clayborn, Alli Mayer, Susie Rodencal, Jerod Splan, and
Liz Wustrack.
West Bend students Dominic DeLaura, Julia Gruber, Thomas Holman, Leah Pietrangelo, and Peggy Rider.
Stay tuned for upcoming student life event announcements to see what entertainers were selected!

Moraine Park interactive media design (IMD) student, John Stratman, has hit some remarkable online milestones.
His 8-bit trailers have created quite a stir on the internet, and among many big names in Hollywood and the film industry. The term “viral” isn’t one of John’s favorites… but, I’m not sure how else to give credit to his work that has brought in hundreds of thousands (and even millions) of views.
