Cue the crickets softly chirping and tumbleweed blowing through our hallways!
It’s mid-January. Our new semester hasn’t started. Probably quiet around here, right?

Moraine Park Technical College has been working with the Rotary Club of West Bend, The Washington County Heroin Task Force and Elevate to provide a free lecture series titled “The Heroin Highway.” Connected to the lecture series is a bedroom that was built on our West Bend Campus by Moraine Park carpentry apprenticeship students.
The bedroom’s purpose is to show parents at least 30 different items that might suggest a child is using drugs. Tours, connected with the lecture series, will be made available to participants.

This has presented an opportunity for the team – to apply what we know today, to redefine how we use the ERP to become more efficient and to document our decisions and why we chose a particular solution. To address this, the team has started to use a method of the Six Sigma methodology called SIPOC. Continue reading
Like many others at the onset of a new year, Pete Rettler looked in the mirror in late 1993 vowing to make a healthy change.
He was in college at the time hoping to lose weight, and he and a friend ultimately made a bet: They both vowed to go for a run outdoors every single day of the 1994. No matter what.
And they did. Day after day. Rain. Sunshine. Snow. Anything. Everything.
Though both men completed this healthy New Year’s challenge, it turns out that stretch of 365 days was only the beginning for Pete.
