Understanding Veterans – A Three Part Series

Moraine Park Technical College has proclaimed the 2016-17 academic year as the “Year of the Student Veteran” and to help better understand veterans, the college will have a series of blog entries to address various questions people may have. Much of the information was taken from the book by Michigan State University’s School of Journalism, “100 Questions & Answers about Veterans” and seems fitting with Veterans Day fresh in mind.

Moraine Park welcomes new District Board member

Moraine Park Board of Director Bob Lloyd

Bob Lloyd of Lomira was sworn in Wednesday, Nov. 16, as the newest member of the Moraine Park Technical College District Board.

He will serve as Moraine Park’s School District Administrator Member, with a term expiring in June 2018.

Lloyd is currently the superintendent of Lomira School District – a position he has held since 2012. Before that, he served as Lomira’s 4K-8 principal from 2003 to 2011. Continue reading

Moraine Park ranked 8th in Military Times’s Best for Vets: Career & Technical Colleges 2017. The list, comprised of 24 schools, recognizes career and technical colleges for their commitment to educating and providing opportunities to America’s veterans.

This is the second consecutive year Moraine Park has finished in the Top 10 of “Best for Vets,” with the College placing 9th on last year’s list. Continue reading
