Do you remember learning how to ride a two-wheel bike instead of a tricycle? At first, you were probably scared because you were doing something unknown and didn’t want to get hurt (it’s a long way down to the ground!). But once you sat on the seat, put your foot to the pedal, and gave it a push, you were on your way! Even if you fell or crashed, you got back on and started all over again. Before you knew it, riding that two-wheel bike was as natural as breathing. It was exhilarating, and it gave you more freedom than you had before! Learning new things can provide those same emotions and more. You gain pride in knowing something you didn’t before and build confidence to continue to learn new things. It is well known that Technical College enrollments are directly correlated to the economy. Strong economy means more people are working and less likely to attend school. During recessionary times it is difficult to find a parking space at any Technical College.
I learned recently that our fall enrollments for our very popular CNC/Tool and Die Technologies Diploma program were low. In fact we have only eight completed applications for a program that can handle 36. Continue reading

I am sure at this current moment if you look around you, there are dishes in the sink, piles of laundry that need to be folded and children that are begging for your attention. You feel pulled in every direction with their questions: What’s for supper? Can you bring me to my friend’s house? Can you help me with my homework?
