According to the Bureau of Justice, 95% of offenders will be released from prison and return to their community.
Students enrolled in Moraine Park Technical College’s Corrections Science program, engage in numerous hands-on activities in Probation and Parole class, and recently our students were able to sit down and interview offenders from Burke Correctional. Continue reading
Moraine Park welcomed area business leaders on Nov. 11 to a complimentary forum to discuss how employee engagement can impact their business. Over 50 participants, representing 23 companies, had an opportunity to hear from three panel presenters as they shared their journey and philosophy on employee engagement. In addition to the Q & A, attendees had an opportunity to network as they discussed best practice techniques, challenges and action steps they can apply at their respective organizations. Nominees must hold a one- or two-year technical diploma, an associate degree or an associate of applied science degree from a Moraine Park program. Additional criteria includes demonstrated service and/or support of Moraine Park, the Wisconsin Technical College System and the community at large, as well as distinguishing oneself through a career or civic activity. Around 30 students were able to get a taste of our community education classes on Saturday, November 12. Saturday Sampler is an event that has been happening for over 5 years and gives students the ability to attend a small portion of a class in a variety of topic areas; with new samplings of classes offered every year!
